Marina Medical offers a range of vascular tunnelers designed for various applications. These tunnelers are available in curved, slightly curved, and XL sizes to accommodate different surgical needs. Each vascular tunneler is constructed entirely from stainless steel, ensuring durability and precision, with an aluminum handle that provides a firm grip and supports a replaceable tip for ease of use and maintenance.
These Vascular Graft Tunneling systems are specifically designed to create subcutaneous tunnels for the placement of vascular grafts, applicable in both peripheral and arteriovenous (AV) access procedures. The tunnelers are engineered to minimize soft tissue damage and trauma, while ensuring that the tunnel size is precisely matched to the diameter of the graft. This careful design helps optimize the placement and stability of the graft, contributing to successful surgical outcomes.
The Most Appropriate Tunneling Device
Marina Medical Vascular Tunneler is designed for the subcutaneous implantation of vascular grafts, especially when a larger tissue passage is needed. The tunneler features a rigid stainless steel shaft with a detachable bullet tip at one end, connected to a lightweight aluminum handle for easy maneuvering.
To use, the bullet tip is gently pushed through the tissue to create a tunnel. The graft material is then sutured to the inner rod and pulled through the hollow shaft. This allows for the graft to be positioned correctly within the tissue tunnel. Once in place, the shaft can be removed without disturbing the graft, minimizing wound trauma and eliminating the need for additional incisions along the graft’s path. This design helps reduce tissue damage and supports smoother, less invasive procedures.
