Marina Medical Sponsors 2nd Annual OSAS Surgery International Course

In March 2015, Marina Medical sponsored the OSAS (Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome) Surgery International Course at the Florida Hospital Nicholson Center in Celebration, Florida. The Course included an anatomical dissection lab with 17 workstations equipped with a cadaver, the MOR System and various Marina Medical instruments. Over 30 surgeons from 12 different countries were trained on the most up to date surgical procedures while utilizing the versatile MOR System. The MOR System is a Modular Oral Retractor System that offers versatility and unrestricted workspace for the surgeon. A wide range of tongue blades and dual rotating mechanisms provide exposure for a variety of patient demographics. Combined with the Martin’s Arm, it is useful in many procedures such as OSAS, TORS, microsurgery, laser surgery and as a chest support for tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome (OSAHS) is a disease with increasing prevalence. The application of surgery to the treatment on OSAHS is a growing field that dramatically improves the lives of those who cannot tolerate non-surgical treatment options. The OSAS Course seeks to provide a strong foundation for those surgeons who wish to explore a specialty in sleep breathing disorder surgery.
